In 2004 I got invited to participate in a 3-day walk for Breast Cancer taking place in the 5 boroughs of New York City. Not only did it require walking 150 miles, it also involved camping! Not my favorite thing to do. For most of us who lived in the city, there was no need for us to “camp.”

spent two nights camping in tents. The first nifht we landed on Randal’s Island. First time I had ever been there. I can’t remember anymore how we got on the island but we walked over the Whitestone Bridge into Astoria to get off of it.
